THE MASTERPIECES

“Can the blind lead the blind?
Will they not both fall into a pit?"
The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.

[Luke 6,39-40]

MEDITATION
"Begin the morning by saying to yourself; I shall meet with the busybody, the ungrateful, arrogant, deceitful, envious and unsocial. All these things happen to them by reason of they ignorance of what is good and evil."
"But I who have seen the nature of good that it is beautiful, and of the bad that is ugly, and the nature of him who does wrong, that it akin to me, not only of the same blood or seed, but that it participates in the same intelligence and the same portion of the divinity, I can neither be injured by any of them, for no one can fix on me what is ugly, nor can I be angry with my kinsman, nor hate him, for we are made for co-operation, like feet, like hands, like eyelids, like the rows of the upper and lower teeth."
" To act against one another then is contrary to nature; and it is acting against one another to be vexed and to turn away."

[by Marcus Aurelius]

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye?
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

[Luke 6, 41-42]

'True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.'

[Socrates]

'Anybody can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way - that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.'

[Aristotle]
